The Tobacco Association of Malawi (TAMA) wishes to inform all tobacco growers, tobacco industry stakeholders, Government Ministries and Departments and all other stakeholders that, following the outcome of the 30th March, 2017 Council Elections, Mr. Abel Masache Kalima Banda has been voted into Office as TAMA President effective 30th March, 2017.

Mr. Abel Kalima Banda is an experienced tobacco farmer in Nkhotakota at Ungwe Village, T/A Malengachanzi who has been growing Burley, NDDF and FCV since 1980. He has been a TAMA Councilor for Area 12 (Salima and Nkhotakota) for the past 15 years. During all this time he served in various committees that form part of the Association’s Corporate Structure.

Under his leadership the Association will continue to provide visible and compelling services to the grower members.

The Association therefore requests for the support of all stakeholders to the President of TAMA for the effective representation of all tobacco growers’ interests.

Mr. Kalima Banda has replaced Mr. Reuben Maigwa who has successfully served his term of office at both TAMA and the International Tobacco Growers Associtaion (ITGA) as President and Vice President respectively.
